We are seeking to appoint a part-time (0.8 fte) Associate Lecturer in Medieval Literature who is able to teach literature written between 1100 and 1500. You will need to demonstrate an ability and willingness to teach the literature of medieval England at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, although you need not be a specialist in medieval literature written specifically in English. We encourage applications from those working in other medieval languages. You will be a member of the interdisciplinary postgraduate Centre for Medieval Studies and will be expected to contribute to Masters’ level teaching in its interdisciplinary or skills modules (for example, medieval languages, especially Old French, paleography). An ability to teach Old French to graduate students at the Centre for Medieval Studies would be an advantage. The Department of English and Related Literature offers research-led teaching, so the successful candidate should have a good track record of research in any area of medieval literature. The post is offered on a fixed term basis for two years from September 2016, at a salary of £30,738, pro rata.
